Sorry guys…
After everything running smoothly for a year or 2 it all seems to have gone to sh.t recently!
I have all my music stored on a QNAP NAS
When i accessed the music via the Focal app it would read my NAS matching the folder structure. Now its just one big mess with individual tracks everywhere? So painful. Basically its not following the folder structure.
Any ideas how to fix this?
I run a QNAP NAS using “Media Straming add on”
Have you searched for this issue on the QNAP forum, there was a discussion about it around a year ago which might have some helpful suggestions?
In the longer run, I’d be looking to use a media server such as Asset UPnP or MinimServer on your QNAP. Both use metadata to organise the music files rather than the folder structure which makes searching much easier and more natural. I prefer Minim as I have a lot of classical, but Asset probably has more fans on the forum.

Definitely drop Asset on to your QNap.
All instructions at dbpoweramp.
MinimServer and view Artist should sort everything out for you.
100% get Asset.
It does it all for you, no need for you to do anything with folders, it works with the album/tracks metadata and does this straight out of the box.
Over time, once you get used to it, then you can easily personalise it, but even then you don’t touch the folders.
Minimserver is much the same, Asset is simpler and easier to fine tune, Minimserver is maybe better for the more complex sorting possibilities of classical.
Here here to the above suggestions. As long as you have all the files tagged correctly, either piece of software will pick them up correctly.
