I believe Tonali is on £275,000 a week for the next 6 years so £85,800,000 plus his fee of £100,000,000 so thats 185,000,000 plus the 10% you gave his agent so he cost you £195,000,000
Fernandes is on £250,000 a week for five years I believe so another £65,000,000 plus the £85,000,000 fee he’s agent’s fee is undisclosed so he cost you £150,000,000.
Thats £345,000,000 about a third of a billion in old money on two players.

The Championship should be quite a fight for second place next season. After all, we thrashed King’s Lynn 2 - 0 on Saturday in our first pre-season game.
Either the heat is getting to me or I am getting carried away after England’s performance on Monday morning……..
I think the Canaries would make a good second place……

Well Ipswich have signed a young Brazilian striker from Toulouse for loadsamoney (for us) - on the evidence of his highlights reel he doesn’t appear to score many goals!
Of equal interest will be how and where players not EPL ready will be offloaded, particularly fan favourites. There are a lot ( the likes of Jack Clarke, Nunez, Akpom, Mehmeti and the young Norwegian lad who was last years record signing). It’s inconceivable they can all go (and be replaced).
Joél Drakes-Thomas, our 17 yr old wunderkid from the Palace academy, has just signed his first professional contract with us.
@Bobthebuilder - you’ll be giving us £120m for him in 2 years time

By my reckoning there will be at least 14 teams in the mix next season and if one allows for, at least, the usual couple of wildcards then it’s going to be be a wild ride with nothing a foregone conclusion. However, we can save that for the other thread.
I’m interested to see who strengthens and where. I think we’re correct in assuming that having a full pre season with the 14 players we brought in last season will make a difference but are likely making a mistake in assuming we only need to strengthen in a small number of places. That strikes me as a recipe for much more of a flirtation with relegation than we had last season.
In the meantime we have another one out of the door after O’Connor and Mullin. Faal has signed for Port Vale permanently.
Weirdest player as record signings (at the time) go. There’s something there and a really good coach would improve it and take the raw edges off. We never needed him and never coached him as needed. Our coaching is very much focused on picking up points with good players in the right positions rather than improving individuals. I felt a tad sorry for him really.
Declan Rice cost £105 million and earns 12.5 million a year in wages but this wasn’t a mine cost less than yours scenario my point is that when working out net spending subtracting incomings from outgoings doesn’t give an honest picture the true cost of a player is his fee plus his wages over the length of his contract.

I think you are likely to be right with your 14 team forecast. Excellent for a neutral to follow all the ups & downs.
Personally, I would rather see 4 to 6 sides fight it out if a couple of them looked capable of holding their own in the Premiership.
As I have already seriously said elsewhere, based on what I saw since Christmas, I would expect us to be in a play off place as the absolute minimum.

I think you should stick to developing your academy players and not buying 'ready-made- players.
I’ve said all along, I would be disappointed if Bruno goes. He’s been fantastic for us, but ultimately he deserves more, and I wish him all the best. We all know that the talent drain to the Septic 6 is unstoppable.
Stripping the emotion away from it all, he’s nearly 29, get the deal done quickly, get a full, fair price, and move on. Time for Miley to come of age. Get Manzambi and Trafford in, buy a striker, and we’re ready to go.

With the play offs down to 8th pretty much the whole league will be in the promotion mix until the last few games. It’s a farce imo, a ruse to keep clubs on board as parachute payments create a divide. I expect 22 teams to be chasing WHU and Wolves. There will be managerial casualties as ever. Parkinson at Wrexham, fella at Saints and the managers of the demoted teams just 5 who will be subject to real scrutiny.
Let’s hope so.

So we’re talking 105 mil + agent @ 10% heading for the 116 mil I’ve seen quoted in the media.
Then 12.5 mil per year for what, six?, years? That’s 75 mil. (240k per week).
So 191 mil in total.
As I said, eye watering amounts of dosh. Even if Dec is probably one of few worth the money
