French Croix rouge recommends a survival kit for all

Where do you live ? Actually people living or in holidays in Madère, Portugal, should have read this thread.

No living in Slovenia, but worked around the whole of Europe and West&Central Africa.

I am not one, I think it’s a kind of fashion today. Lot of survival camps in French, where you can learn how to survive in extreme conditions.
I opened the thread by curiosity, because our national Croix Rouge recommends since 2 months a survival kit for each habitant. Exaggerated.

As it’s a survival kit you could always use the pet for food when the other food runs out

Use an FN FiveSeveN (5.7X28) the pistol and rounds are lighter, it’s more accurate and just as effective.

Or not, some call this common sense

If you live in London for example, is it still common sense ?

Usually when there is a problem it could hit harder in the big cities. People living in rural areas are better prepared anyhow due to e.g. longer distances to grocery stores, power cuts might be more regular and if there is livestock the aggregates are a must anyhow and so on.

Don’t know about London but generally if there was some kind of crisis I rather would be elsewhere than in a big city.

The survival kit is generally for natural disaster, like fire, flood, river overflow…a bit unlikely to happen in a big city.
Rural areas more.

Around here it’s for all kind of disasters (including nuclear power plant failures).

Regarding London, this is one view:

The ice age is coming, the sun’s zooming in
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growing thin
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
'Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river

Falling down, falling down,
London Bridge is falling down,
