My second PS555 comes next week. As a result of the forum factory visit. I wanted the difference to not be noticeable, but sadly it really was. My suggestion is to not listen to it with two if you want the 4 grand or so its worth second hand. If you do you won’t be selling it.

I believe v3,8 will not give you Tidal Max, but I’m happy to be corrected.

Isn’t the flat top mounted on spiked legs like the shelves below, suggesting it’s designed to have units sitting on it……..?

That would work. It just doesn’t have the glass isolation shelves and it would upset the aesthetics.
To be honest I’ll just probs move the PS on and give myself another upgrade opportunity when the time is right…

The one I’m buying is from eBay/UK and it comes with a 555 DR power supply. I did ask them about the firmware and they said they didn’t have a clue.

I’ve measured carefully and 2 x 555DR would fit direct stacked on the bottom right hand shelf. I’m thinking isolation of power supplies from each other is much less of an issue than isolation of PS from head units.
It may well also improve the aesthetics, because it will get rid of the gap

Did the one you enquired about come with a PS?

I think if you use some isolation pucks it will not be an issue. @JosquinDesPrez is your main friend here. He has new HRS racks and has stacked his Naim components very nicely.

Yes, I use HRS 1” Nimbus dampers between stacked components. I have 252 on top of 300 PS and SCDR on top of 300PS. I also have NDX2 on top of XPSDR, but that one doesn’t matter since I have it listed for sale. I’m replacing that with a single half-chassis DAC.
