Seriously though, how are the second hand prices for the ND555 holding up these days in the UK?

I bought mine for under £8k without power supply last year. The 555PSDR goes for around £4k. @Stu299 what did you pay mate?

Herbie’s Fat Dots are 6.3mm high and are very effective at dissipating vibrations. Also won’t ooze or leave any residue on the equipment.

Could be perfect. Just risk of damaging power supplies casing sliding units in and out.

I am sure they wiĺl be fine stacked on top of each other. In old dsys the 6 pack 135s were all stacked on top of each other.

Will be fine. Stack them @Stu299. Will sound a whole lot better and will look great!

£8,572.25 with 555PSDR. That’s :ok_hand: Congratulations :slight_smile: Few months ago there was a similar price on ND555+555PSDR from a Danish store. Prices moving down pretty quick now.

This one is collection only, which always pushes the price down a bit. It’s also a 2018 so older model, as is the PS which is 2016 I think. I’m assured it’s all in perfect nick though.

Second power supply is worth it - took nd555 to another level….not a giant step up but enough of an improvement in how organic the music sounded

@Stu299 why not put the nd555 or the 552 on top of the cabinet and then u would have enough shelves for the second ps?
Or did I miss something?

I’m sure that there will be SQ improvements in coming versions. Continuous improvement and all that…

Yes, putting either my CDS2 or CDS3 head unit on a shelf above the NAC552 was not a good idea - definitely adversely affected performance, so have been wary ever since. Not sure though whether it’s just CD players or also other digital units like streamers, DACs etc..

Is it ok to put my LP12 above 552? This is what I have at the moment, will experiment if you think it worthwhile.

I have had (and still have) a turntable above the NAC552 - albeit with an intermediate level gap - and it seems fine.

Just collected the units from Salisbury. I’m not going to betray any confidences, but the system they are from has about the strongest Naim pedigree one could ever wish for…

The units are immaculate and the PS is 500 finish. Over the moon so far!

And I’m told the ND555 system hasn’t been updated for quite some time…
