I’m picking up an ND555 tomorrow to complete my 500 system 
It comes with a 555DR which when I plan to sell on as I already have one. But I’m sure you can guess what’s just crossed my mind

I’m thinking to get a 2nd PSU. Hoping you can do some listening and do let use know if 2 PSU is heaven and earth difference hehe

That will be interesting… is the nd555 on 3.11? Comparing to nds … we have very similar systems.
And - do not sell 2nd ps. It adds a lot!
And do not sell nds too early. In my system it still beats the nd555 with 3.11
By the way … the 500 has not much air to breath. Is it not getting hot in summer?

Sell it all and buy a Nova PE?

You could go for 3 stacks and have some empty shelves. The ND555 is quite a bit better with 2 power supplies. Just saying …

It’s a bespoke built unit so there are complications increasing capacity, albeit not impossible. There might be room to stack 2 x PS on top of each other on the same level as the 500 head. Not ideal, I know! But is direct stacking quite so critical if it’s 2 x PS

It will be with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to the NDS, wonderful machine! And if I prefer it by some margin, then I’ll just move the ND555 on.
I don’t know what the FW version is. I want to play Tidal Max, not sure if that’s possible with 3.8.

That’s great. I was watching enviously to learn of the ‘going rate’. Hope to be in a position to pursue the same path in 2026.
Appreciate the synergy with the rest of your system but interested in whether you listened to other streamers (particularly the 333) and what the 555 brought beyond any you listened to.

No I didn’t audition I’m very lazy and happy to put my faith in Naim and the many other trusted ears on this forum. They’ve never let me down so far.

While I do like that rack and overall looks (maybe a bit sterile, some Plants and Paintings perhaps?) I’d move up the TV a bit, and place a flagship turntable on top of rack.

Move the TV up 20 cm, and then you have space for another rack level to house the second PS.
