The first time that happened to me, I was having dinner with friends a mile from home and I had to walk home, change the filter and walk back again. That ear went completely quiet, so I had no choice really. They delayed serving the main course for me though.

Easily done Mike. My Audiologist advises a monthly change of the wax filters in my Oticon’s, but my ears seem to produce unusually large amounts of wax and I find that weekly changes are more the norm for me.
