Just to avoid confusion, if you reversed the cables and the issue remains on the left SPEAKER, then the issue is pointed towards the speaker rather than the amp. But you notice the same issue with headphones, so I guess that’s not the case.
I think the OP was saying the issue stays with the left channel but moves to the right speaker
