Help with changing the sticky labels on olive 82

Joy of joys I have just found the replacement sticky label set for my olive NAC82 and so can finally replace the incorrect labels for my sources.

Before I start mangling the labels currently on the amp with a sharp knife I thought I would just check if there are any tips/procedures worth following when replacing these as I would imagine it may be tricky to get the old labels off as they have been stuck on there for years… Ideally I can attach them back on the backing sheet for re-use.

All tips gratefully received!

Although I never swapped any labels on either my NAC82 or NAC52, IIRC the sheet of alternative labels came in a plastic bag with a small sprung steel tool for their removal. It might be worth seeing if you have this anywhere. It was very small!

Sadly no tool present Clive so it looks like tweezers may be the order of the day!

I recall warming mine with a hairdryer, which softened the glue nicely, and then teasing out the label with a pin.

A long time ago, I used a craft scalpel.
However, probably a combination of the above will be best.

→ gently heat with a hairdryer
→ lift a corner with a sewing needle
→ easy off with tweezers or electrical pliers

Done this many times on both my 102 & 82. Use Needle point tweezers or even a sewing needle. I have used both; I found tweezers are better coz you can get a grip. Never needed to use a hair dryer.

Angle in at the corner and gently lift. Return the old label to the sheet, for later use.

Before you start, take a photo, so that you can return to “stock” if you ever sell the unit.

Came off surprisingly easily with a sharp knife under them so aside from streaming which I have labelled Aux it’s all good…

Thanks for the tips guys,
