HiFi Cables : a summary

I’m sure the EMI will be low but when you see Naim paying meticulous care to things like earthing, giving instructions on cable dressing, running a brains and brawn stack to keep power away from signal, dedicated consumer units etc. etc. it still surprises me that in a money (virtually) no object power cable that a deliberate choice is made not to screen it- I’m sure this is not done in a cost cutting way.

… this is to keep transformer fields away from sensitive signal paths in the source & pre-sections.

Many years ago, in my yoof, I tried using VHF aerial cable as a mains lead - using the inner core for live and the outer for neutral. The results were immediate and spectacular!
