Ps tip for visiting the high end. If you are not a professional like me you can only visit the high end on Saturday and Sunday. So I recommend you to extend your visit with one day so you can visit the high end deluxe on Friday. It’s an event in an hotel with some of the brands you will not find at the high end - like von Schweikert. It enables you to enjoy Hifi for three days….

Suggest some demo music, eh?

Will be interesting so see if there is a local sauce to the high end in Vienna. I have seen in the past in Munich that besides the generally well known high end tracks like Malia, Annette Askvik etc that you had something which was specifically local (things you wouldn’t hear in the US) and some went even extreme in playing south German house music …… example Carolin No, Nena or Sophie Hunger (yeah coming from Swiss)

I’m also coming to Vienna for High-End this year. Vienna is a lovely city. I’ll be taking a look around the city and visiting Schönbrunn Palace (very impressive) before the Hifi Show. Thanks for the tip about the Hifidelux Show, which can be visited on the Friday before High-End. I’m looking forward to it. If there’s a lunch meeting for forum members on Saturday, I’d be happy to join. There’s a lounge at the entrance to the ACV where we can meet, or in a restaurant nearby. Otherwise, @Richard.Dane can certainly send you my contact details. Thanks in advance.

I’ve visited the deluxe exhibition in Munich a number of times. Worth it indeed.

A few Brands stood out performing with excellent sound every year, even very large rooms.

FM Acoustics and a French company I just can’t remember the name, 3-figure..

Audio Note could be good but did vary more.

Indeed, but you hardly experience that many noisy trams in other cities, Prague maybe.

Apart from in 2020.

It starts to get quite difficult to oversee everything. Besides the high end and besides the high end the luxe….., there will a third site opposite the high end in which Aries Cerat will show off there stuff …, which includes new speakers.

I heard the entry level integrated from Aries Cerat. So sad I couldn’t and can’t throw 20 k on it. Wonderful. I prefer not to imagine what the big system may sound like.

I have 2 wishes for you and your accompanying guys: how sound the Wadax Player one, and the Grimm MU2.

I’ve just looked through the High End exhibitor list, and I’m actually quite surprised that most of the companies that used to be my main reason for attending (back when it was in Munich) seem to be missing in Vienna. Silbatone, for example, along with many others. In my opinion, HiFi deluxe offers a much more interesting cross-section of brands.

And it’s still crazy expensive especially in the USA

Hi @BertBird I’m curious how the Chord Dave with the new Quad Scaler sounds.

Same here. At last year’s Finest Audio Show Zurich, Aries Cerat’s entry-level system was sensational (Click here). However, the complete system on display there costs over 100k.

→ High End Vienna - #41 by Thomas

Hi, i am from Vienna. Here is some typical Austrian music, most of it is sung in dialect.

It goes from traditional to modern folk to fusion.

All from Quobuz.

I will be at she show at saturday.

They were by far one of THE most interesting exhibitions in Munich when I visited maybe four to five times.

Very nice people and first class replay from Schick and Schroeder turntables through expensive Silbatone valve kit, often handled by Thomas or Frank themself.

Western Electric vintage loudspeakers not to forget, its a place most people stayed. for long.

I agree with you. A couple of years back and especially before the pandemic, most interesting brands were at the show. Now some of them still show up at the high end the luxe….., but it’s not as complete anymore. And then you have this ticket system at a lot of stands where you first must go for a slot reservation before you can see. This forces you to be there at least two days….. ugly practices and not in interest of the normal consumer, while I belief the key for many brands is the B2B part of the show……

Revox seems to demo the new Deep Purple album on tape, in addition also a cassette version is produced…. They also have a signature session with the band or members of the band…
