hi, I want to buy hicap dr’ manufactured in 2018
considering it worked 24/7 , is it considered as a old equipment ? which I would rather pass or send it first to refurbished, or this kind of equipment can work for years without problems…
You didn’t put a question mark in the end so I assume your personal thought is ‘years without problems’, and I tend to agree.
It is likely to be a big help for your Supernait, and probably won’t benefit from a service until about 2030 imho.
i have add a questain mark
thanks for the reply
I have a Supernait too and a HiCap is the first and possibly only thing I am going to buy in 2024.
Goodness, won’t you get hungry within a day or so of the new year starting?
In “Naim World”, being born in 2018 means it’s not even a teenager yet. As has already been said, it wont need to be re-born until 2031/2033 at the earliest.
The service interval is typically 12 to 15 years for classic components, as recommended by Naim.
I own a HiCap built in 1985. Still working fine, albeit regularly serviced…
