In journalistic terms the source for the advice to have all outputs active for best SQ is quite weak, seemingly stemming from one person’s interpretation of what one named Naim employee stated.

I find it questionable on 2 counts.

  1. Turning off a process results in less unnecessary processing which is usually a positive.
  2. It seems unlikely that were there a way to make units sound better (or worse) that this wouldn’t be explicitly annunciated.

Agreed, it’s up there with humming transformers sound better.

Agree. It feels like the term disable/off is abit more loose at Naim.

According to the designer who told me himself at a launch event a few years back. He designed it to sound best with everything enabled.

Just leave it alone and enjoy.

Like I wrote above, if it is like that they shouldn’t make it a secret
