How to message Customs UK?

Can’t find the way to join UK customs. I returned a product to a UK dealer but the item is still at customs processing, since 3 weeks.
My postal office can’t do anything, the dealer in UK asked Parcel Force, but they have no information.
Is there a number to phone, a mailbox? Can’t find with google.
Thanks

Good evening FR, would you like some help from the Mad Scientist Robot?.

Hi @frenchrooster , as a first step, try the following……

Phone

Imports and exports

Call for advice about imports or exports submitted to the National Clearance Hub for clearance.

Telephone: [0300 322 7900](tel:0300 322 7900)

Opening times: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

From the same website where I obtained the above info, there is also a web-chat facility, but that may be disabled for non UK based IP addresses?

I had a problem where something (a laptop) that was being sent to me from my employer in the US got stuck in UK customs. Ultimately it took the US exporter to raise a query with the courier to flush out the problem, which esoterically was that my EORI was unknown (because I didn’t have one). So I registered one and told UK customs what it was (by this time they had contacted me) and it all worked out in a few days. The courier was FedEx and they went into the whole lost package routine before it got sorted out.

(EORI is European Operators Registration and Identification number)

I’ve just accessed the NCH chat facility from the UK using my VPN set to France IP and had no issues.

Thanks. I had the same problem 1 month before, buying a cable from EBay UK. With Fedex, there was a mailbox to raise the situation. Eori too, that they asked.
But with my postal service, no.

Very thanks

Good luck! Somehow, shipping overseas is not as straightforward as it seems …

Mail organic matter and they will call you
Sorted!

It’s just a cable, a return to a dealer. But very costly, 1800 euros. Sigma Ethernet. How long time will they keep it? Why don’t they contact anybody?

What does it mean?

Fingers crossed. When I sent my 250 to the UK for upgrade, I meticulously prepared the required documents in triplicate for the document pouch.

That said document pouch was simply mysteriously missing by the time the unit made it to the UK and it sat in customs for months and I had to pay £800 duty to free it up. No documents pouch and no way to prove it was ever there, I was told it was non refundable and non disputable.

I have had various incidents since Brexit. The responsibility lies with the courier. Contact them and don’t give up. They are all useless to different degrees and will tell you that is someone else’s fault. It isn’t. If you have given them the correct information at time of booking them, it is their responsibility. I no longer send to or buy things from the UK.

Me too, I will never send to UK again.
EBay resolved it and refunded me. Ouf! I suspect the dealer to not want to pay the taxes. But can’t be sure.

Yes indeed the customs process is very much harder but it works the other way round too buying from an EU country from the UK is an awful process at times or sending something back so it is the same situation both ways.

Absolutely, making trade more difficult.

It does. The hope is that the more friendly relationships sprouting just now as everyone needs friends without the US, things will get better.

I want to add that using FedEx or UPS is easier to get informations.
But la Poste. Colissimo, despite many messages and calls, said that they can’t do anything.
