I owe you all a big apology. I said in an earlier post I needed to use Bluetooth to play Naim Radio Stations on the App, of course I don’t! Once the IRadio button in the app, all stations are then streamed over the internet, even on my older Muso Gen 1. I am so sorry all, I feel such a fool! I found the button this afternoon. Thanks for your patience. Needless to say the Muso sounds even better now.
Don’t worry about it. There are many different ways to make streaming audio players work, some perhaps better than others, but as long as you get to listen, it’s all good.
Because your 1st gen Muso is an older design, you may find that some stations aren’t available on it, or only as a lower quality stream, in which case the radio player you’ve been using in the Naim app will make them available.
I think it’s brilliant you have found that ethernet socket and got the muso working for music, radio and podcasts. Enjoy yourself and keep us updated on what we should be listening to
I can remember about 10 years ago or so when I was trying get local streaming to work with my 1st gen ND5-XS I was about fit to be tied it was so frustrating.
Thank goodness for Roon and Qobuz Connect, and modern streaming hardware (i.e. my Weiss DAC).
Aah… budget constraints mean I have to make old equipment work.. Been fun though and my old Muso (gen1), gives me a lovely sound in difficult environs. She is probably running 8hrs a day and hopefully will see me out! Her nar name is Doris by the way.
Great to here about your setup - sounds fab - am a little envious.
You can change the order/positions for your “sources” in the Naim App so that your commonly used ones appear on the “home” screen for that particular device without having to swipe left/right. Select the device → Settings → Sources Layout, then move your most used sources to the top of the list. I am guessing that’s perhaps why you didn’t notice the iRadio source initially. Don’t worry about it - we all go “DUH” sometimes
