If that was in The Times today their reporting as a “News”paper is not impressive, as it was reported on this forum at least a week ago!

Ah. No it wasn’t today. I read it earlier on the back of a link from an interview with Jools Holland and thought it notable.

Seems like a clever idea on the face of it.

One of my old colleagues heated his home from the cannabis farm in the next door flat when he lived in Colliers Wood.

I had a work mate who built himself a fairly beefy PC, he lived in freezing flat with no heating. He told me he once wrote a script that asked the PC to calculate Pi to something like a million decimal places and let it rip before going to work each morning. Not surprisingly his flat was quite toasty when he got home in the evening

There’s a smaller immersion heater type of device that clamped to your hot water tank.

Sounds like a load of old guff to me.

Looks like something Naim might use on their amps instead of those heatsink fins.

It reminds me of an amp pack. Maybe the ideal companion product if you have ATC actives.

Back in the mid 1970s there was an article Wireless World describing construction of a water cooled amplifier. Then a little later thay publshed tge circuit diagram of the Quad 405, an innovative amp in its day. I was quite tempted to try to build a water cooled 405, but never got around to it. As computer gamers know, water cooling can achieve more effective cooling of the critical components than even fan driven airflow over heatsinks, however the heat still needs dissipating outside the amp, the liquid just being more efficient at getting the heat from the power transistors to external fins, passive or blown …or to a heat store for domestic use, though hardly a simple or convenient connection to make,

It appears that Cloudflare has gone down impacting a large chunk of the internet.

Including the App formally known as Twitter…..hmmm, maybe there is a God after all!
