Stanley Baxter. Scottish comedian.
Oh, have the images been ‘colourised’?
I don’t think so.
Surprised I didn’t realise, I know the name well but don’t really recall watching him when I was younger.
Well that’s not cricket.
Happy 100th Birthday Mr van Dyke!

RIP Stanley.
I’ll be up on the roof later playing with my brush ![]()
Happy birthday Mr Willy van Dyke.
That’s alright then…
The chap disarming the murderer with a rifle at Bondi. I mean. Blimey!
Don’t we all dream to be such a guy ?!
Once he’d got the rifle and the terrorist backed away, I’m surprised he didn’t shoot him in the legs to incapacitate him.
The hero would most likely been charged had he shot the “alleged” mass murderer.
Or, as you may prefer, Richard van Dyke
I’d prefer Knobby van Dyke ![]()
Mind i have no say in the press releases.
Ahmed el Ahmed. I think that’s the most heroic thing I’ve ever seen. Absolutely incredible. There’s a fund set up for him. I hope it grows and he gets every penny. Get well soon.
I hope after he’s paid his medical expenses he donates it to a fund for all the injured/ deceased families.
I think he’s done enough. I hope he makes a full recovery and quietly retires rich. A fund for the injured/deceased families can be sourced from elsewhere.
I respect your view but I think the go fund me generation is missing the point. A hero does what he or she does out of a sense of right and courage. It doesn’t need rewarding with riches. A gong and the thanks of the nation is more appropriate.
I’m sure he’s going to be thanked and loved every day for the rest of his life, but in my view money is unfortunately the best way to reward us humans. You don’t know what he’s going to do with it; kids, family, relatives, etc. He was 99% dead when he ran in and we owe him an easy life, not just praise.
