I am not complaining about nd555 - it’s a very good streamer. It’s the FW which can and should (and will) do better. I love the naim sound and have carefully balanced all out - don’t want to start that all over.
And how do you read me complaining in the statement that „nd555 is great (on 3.8) 
How I wish you can try Lina with the Nait 50. A proper pre+amp integrated. Maybe you will get that Naim Prat

Because he has hope that new firmware will restore the sound quality he likes. We will very soon know how the 3.12 sounds.

We’re a bit on the fence here.
Have gotten used to 3.11 tonality, and whilst a return to a sound not unlike 3.8 might be welcomed it’s worrying that we own an expensive audio device where the SQ/tonality changes with every FW release.
I’m in tuning mode with my system so if Naim decide to alter the sound towards something else then I might get into trouble..

Great question. I should be able to answer that directly but I cannot. I should have run the Pulsar into the Weiss DAC204 and into the Lina to hear the comparison of DACs, but I did not. That was a miss. The only response I can give you is that I preferred the Lina as a total source solution (DAC + streamer) over the other solutions I tested.

Does anyone know if a pulsar betters a stream 3. pulsar is now on sale. In my case it’s another box, what I don’t like, but…

Have seen it - but real reviews are limited. I am interested if with ZenNG for example you can get the wonderful organic sound back. ZenNG into NDS?
