Anyone on here using a specialist insurer for their collection?
I’m looking for something that would specifically cover a friend’s collection while in my possession. A quick google shows companies offering things like 50k coverage for £25 per year etc. Any experiences?
For my household insurance, my system is covered as individual items but when I put a new for old replacement value on the whole thing the insurers started to get worried about door locks and alarm systems and it became all about the small print.

The OP said collection, not system. I would have thought that meant music collection as in CDs or LPs rather than HiFi gear?
The OP also mentioned 50k. I would think the same considerations might apply if it’s valuable and portable.
It would normally be covered by the owners own household contents insurance, which should provide for them being stored outside the main home. I had a settlement for water damage on my record collection a while ago after a plumbing incident, through the household contents insurance.
