Interesting TV

I went for Apple just for Slow Horses as well but stuck with it. Always difficult to judge what others will like but we were then quite surprised that we enjoyed Tehran and - for something completely different, Bad Sisters and Ted Lasso (which isn’t really about football so don’t let that put you off).

The Gold series 2. Starting June. Looking forward to this.

Not sure how it dovetails with the excellent series 1.

Very late to this, but Detectorists is very enjoyable. Gentle humour, nice pace, very watchable.

Watched a 3 part documentary on Netflix about Fred & Rosemary West. Then watched ‘Appropriate Adult’ drama. This was from 2011 and I’ve seen it before. Seeing it again is just a reminder of what a decent drama can be, before everyone gets carried away with Adolescence. Dominic West and Emily Watson are superb. Subtle and don’t overact.

American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden

Had me glued to my seat all night yesterday. It’s really well put together, and by the end I was right there in the incident room with Obama et al.

Watched the first two episodes of Death Valley, the new quirky detective show on the Beeb.

Very entertaining, even if Timothy Spall does chew the scenery a bit.

Agreed, that guy from Liverpool on that series was also very good.He was a young lad just had a child at the time, wanted to do film scores if I remember right. Cannot remember his name though.

Season 3 of The Wheel Of Time, I downloaded this to watch while on my holidays I wish I hadn’t bothered the story line is all over the place with so many threads it’s just impossible to follow.

Probably why it’s been cancelled if my entertainment feeds are to be trusted.

Just finished the last episode of the Handmaiden Tale and good to see that they continued the tradition of really poor endings. Drawn out boring and completely uneventful made the last episode of GOTs seem like great tv. Very disappointing.

Sirens on Netflix. High society meets reality in a fictional way. Intriguing, well acted. Wouldn’t normally view something like this but it has grabbed our attention.

I see the BBC are running a series of Springsteen programmes on the evening of Saturday 31st May. Presumably will be on iPlayer subsequently. Looks interesting.

Department Q on Netflix. Set in Scotland.
I’m not sure about it yet.
I should try to find the Danish original.

A Murder at the End of The World - itvx. Half-original title. Other half is depressingly predictable rubbish with hammy acting. :-1:
