For users of the Naim app, you might want to check out the new iPhone mirroring function, now available in iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. It’s really simple and very nicely allows you to control your music with the Naim app without lifting your fingers off the keyboard of your laptop.
The app has been available on M chip macs for years.
I wasn’t aware. Thanks.
If you open App Store on Mac and search for the app then click on iPhone and iPad apps it should come up. Probably more convenient than the mirroring.
This function should be pretty handy for accessing stuff on your phone without necessarily having it to hand, especially if the iOS/`iPad OS won’t run on the Mac (only some do and even then some features don’t always work as well as you’d like).
One downside I gather is that the mirroring can potentially impact battery life if used a lot.
As I don’t have a compatible iPhone I’ve not tried it.
I have only really found it annoying. For instance I might get a message on teams on my phone, if its not launched on my mac then the message comes up on the mac, but if you click it, it launches phone mirroring rather than teams on the mac. There is a number of scenarios where this happens.
Sounds like a work in progress to some extent then.
Yup, found the same thing quite annoying. A possible good idea, but still cant think why it work be good for me yet
