Woody Shaw - Sunbath taken from 1976’s excellent Love Dance on Muse Records about to be reissued on Zev Feldman’s Time Traveller label. The Albums Woody Shaw released on Muse from the mid 70’s - mid 80’s are all very good I especially like the ones like Love Dance where Steve Turre plays Trombone.

3D sound on this one! Literally sounds like you’re sat in the middle of the stage. There are a bunch of different masterings of this legendary set on Tidal, but the one pictured here is where the 3D magic happens. Don’t know how to explain why…

Always loved this album so it was nice to discover this version today. Enjoy

Not often a Jazz Drummer gets into the news.

I have two or three of his mainstream cds.

Saturday evening listen. Highly recommended album from three Dutch musicians teamign up: Angelo Verploegen, Ed Verhoeff and Eric van der Westen

Some longer ago, they also did another album together. Equally recommended

Interesting albums, IMO When night falls has a sort of latin / bossa nova flavour to it.

Do you find it similar? I feel quite a different vibe and mood, maybe it’s only me.

However both interesting albums, even though When the night falls is, overall, more of my taste I think. Thanks for sharing Executive lounge too, it’s always interesting to discover new albums.

Bought all those LPs on release from Ray’s Jazz when I was a teenager. I still play them all apart from the one shown which I never got on with.

Funilly enough, I got a cutout of ‘Mama Too Tight’ from Mole back in the 70s, sold it then rebought a nice UK original LP a few years ago. It has grown on me !
