Journey’s End (?) and a hankering

It would seem that I am at my journey’s end. Not the best or an expensive system but one that brings me much joy:

Volumio Rivo+ and LineO 5 LPS
Chord Hugo2
Rega Apollo CDP
Naim Nait2 CB/Nait50
Guru Juniors

It is a simple system that fits well in our small terraced cottage. I realise that the streaming side of things may make great leaps and bounds in the future but I think the Rivo will see me good for a few years into the future. The Juniors may be upgraded to the Guru 8s soon as I have tried the 12s and they are rather good but physically they are too big for the room (it’s only cms but it makes a difference).

So what am I hankering after? My original Nait 2 CB (serial # 50458). This was the first amp that really spoke to me. It was not my first Naim amp - 122/150 followed by 202/200/NAPSC/HiCap and Quad, Exposure and Musical Fidelity before that. I loved that amp but I always had to sell equipment to buy the next piece as money has always been tight. I believe it was sold to fund the Exposure XM5 amp and I regretted it soon after.

So if anyone knows of its whereabouts then please let me know. There will be an ad on the Pink later this evening. Many thanks.

Hope you manage to find it. Good luck :crossed_fingers:

It’s great to be in the position of just enjoying the music rather than thinking about the equipment.

I have something of a desire to get back to my HiFi roots and replicate my first serious system. Although I have not been as specific as you about getting the actual amp I used to have just the same model. I used to have a Michell Focus One (Michell arm) with Crimson Elektrik 510/520 pre and power amp with some Mission 700 speakers.

I have yet to re-assemble such a system and one thing that makes me hesitate apart from the cost of such vintage equipment these days maybe that I may be disappointed with the outcome. Is it really as good as I remember? Might it be best left as a warm memory?
