Just got myself a N-172XS

By coincidence, I’ve exchanged my MuSo Qb to a 172XS/155XS with a bit cash-adjust.

Must say previous owner took care of his kit, both amps are immaculate in mint condition really, ready for upstairs TV setup.

Never owned or even heard N-172XS before. The nearest is likely a Superuniti I had a few years back.

My SU screen display faded twice during my ownership. Even I decided not to go there again, here I am again  , this time with a perfect working display.

Guess 172XS/155XS performance is on level with a Superuniti ?

I know streaming might be old hat on this preamp, I do sometime explore new music on Spotify, otherwise this setup is primarily for TV and internet Radio, maybe added a turntable. Loudspeakers will be some old Proac Studio 110 or Neat Motive 3.

Some exiting days ahead.

A good piece of equipment, enjoy, and the 155 was a great amp.

I think you will find that the SuperUniti, although an integrated unit, is actually a bit above the 172 XS in the streaming and DAC department. And the 155 XS is less powerful than the power amplifier in the SuperUniti.

But the combo will certainly beat the Qb in terms of sound quality.

You may be right although my Proacs is quite an easy and sensitive loudspeaker.

In a compact room, I might not notice the less power (I do have an old Nap 180 I could try too)

Actually I recall the SU to be a bit on the dark side, not very revealing - sometime an advantage with occasionally terrible quality from some of my TV stations.

Actually my Qb was long just placed in our kitchen and have been replaced with a portable Sonos, only used for news at the morning coffee. Music replay wasn’t really satisfying from Qb.
