Any feedback from users who have tried the Kuzma 4P9 on the LP12?
I have an Ekos SE short head-shell and wonder if the Kuzma would be better than the current gen Ekos SE.
I have a Keel installed.
I’m doing everything I can to keep my LP12 rather than moving to another deck. Right or wrong… if it exists a right or wrong choice.
They made the new longer headshell and shorter armtube Ekos to improve it. ![]()
You can’t choose new only if you find used.
I thought the 4Point 9 was too heavy, at 920g, for the springs of the LP12.
The latest iteration of the Ekos SE doesn’t seem to be a strong leap from the Ekos SE 1gen.
Kuzma shows two LP12 mounting the 4point9 on its website. Some have said the suspensions can tolerate the 920g, some have replaced the suspensions with the Audiosilente mushrooms.
For similar money - have you had a look at the Supatrac Blackbird tonearm?
It is a novel sideways-unipivot design that my dealer said was the best arm that he’d heard
It’s really mods made so a bigger range of cartridges could be used.
The smaller headshell was more limiting on cart size.
No idea if one is better or not but the latest version has more flexibility on cartridge choice.
Ekos SE has a short straight edged headshell and longer armtube with a black painted deck and Cueing device.
SE/1 has a longer headshell with curved edge and shorter armtube non painted deck and silver cueing device.
The early SE came with a black cueing device.
Only one option now unless second hand. ![]()
I know it. I don’t really like the aesthetics of it. Another possibility is the Origin Live Conqueror that comes in a LP12 version.
