Latest Linn Kilmax LP12

Clive yes the now say Radikal powered the Urika or Urika 2 and should you wish you could add Uphorik PSU or now the older slim line radikal can be sent to Glasgow to have a second power rail fitted hense no need to purchsse Uprhorik

The new Klimax 2 offers 2 power rails to power independently the Urika or Urika 2 and then motor

I could not believe the difference the musical upleft when the Uprohick was added to the slim line Radikal and the new Klimax Radikal is a superb PSU for both

as I mentioned @Cymbiosis need to test with other Phono stages and I am sure Peter will do so in time and post his thoughts

From what Peter Swain said yesterday there is no plan for a Keel SE to suit an Aro. The best option seems to be the Tangerine Audio offering, although this is close in performance to a Keel rather than Keel SE.

Yes was aware of that but more interested in potential fit of the new Bool Audio arm which is similar look to the Aro but presumably has their own fixing design to the deck. Reading between the lines it looks like a Keel fitment will come for that and it just occurred to me that they might have been waiting for a Keel with a collar fitment that can be changed. I’m hoping it could be fitted to the Keel that I have to save cost if I ever do get to the point of being able to afford a new arm.

I think I read that the Bool arm has a standard Linn fitting. Which would be sensible.

The Bool Arm is indeed a Linn fit.

Only on the Kore though not a Keel according to what Peter has said. I guess the machined collar of the Keel is in the way. So either a modified version of the mount needed or a removable collar maybe..

I look forward to a dem, eventually, of the Klimax Radikal compared to my existing Radikal especially as I am a Superline user not interested in the upgrades that drive Linn’s phono stage.

If I were to buy one I guess I would be paying for some functionality and components I would never use.

Not so sensible then. Why would you produce an arm for an LP12 that didn’t fit a Keel?

Possibly a Bool Keel as replacement for the old Aro Keel he got made.

Removable arm collar on the new Keel SE

Perhaps a bespoke collar.

I have been out of the HiFi loop for a few years, until I decided to renew my system. Prices seem to be reaching for the stratosphere

A Linn Klimax LP12, with a price tag of £32,000, seems exaggerated for a turntable.

How many of these decks do the company hope to sell?

The Linn merry go round. The gift that keeps giving.

You either love it or hate it, take your pick.

But you have to admire what Linn have achieved with the LP12, over the decades. For me i am glad i never got on the ride, and never will.

Circa £8,500 for a plinth that is manufactured in the same way, and from the same material, as the glulam beams we use on our construction projects.

A glulam beam 2500mm long by 360mm wide by 140mm deep and weighing 70Kg is £200.00.

As our friends across the pond say, “ go figure”.

I love my lp12 and wouldn’t be with out it…. yes there is a bit of triggers broom about mine (Aro, Keel etc added) but it has a certain magic both in the experience of playing a record and the listening experience that is very beguiling.
