I guess because that way gets it to sound the best they can do.
I though Rossini was Italian.
Maybe the French inquisition came after him…
Created in France to honour the Italian gastronome Gioachino Rossini
Here is something I just realised today…although I am sure others were well aware of it already…people who have a more simple system are much more content and hardly ever post messages relating to upgrades and issues with sound quality. The more you have, the more you want/want to tweak I guess. I am guilty of this and it is a good reflection to have. Enjoy what you have essentially. It is highly likely to be amazing!
I agree, there are some network bridges that are better than Naim. And it can make a huge difference. I use a dCS network bridge in front of my NAC n272, and it is a real upgrade.
Some people run systems that are so complicated that I’m slightly surprised they work at all…
Sometimes simple is the best philisophy!
All good though. It can be a crazy hobby at times. Enjoy your systems all of you!
I don’t think there’s any necessary correlation between how much someone might have and how much they want to tweak. (I assume that how much they have refers to how many parts to their system, but equally the scale of their resources). I think it comes more down to whether you are a tweaker type, maybe always seeking the nth degree of improvement -though given tales on here people often end up reversing changes recognising that what they thought was improvement might not be! If you are a tweaker your system may be more likely to become more complex than someone who is not a tweaker, who just perhaps spends time and effort finding what sounds best to them, maybe only changing when they either have enough money for a significant upgrade, or when something fails and needs replacing, when they might go through the same sort of process again, otherwise not changing or adding anything.
The bigger questions are which actually sounds better (and to whose ears!), and which is more satisfying: the simpler system chosen with care, or the complex system, chosen maybe with care, but also through multiple fiddling/tweaking/changing?
Alternatively people who are content have simpler systems.
Looking forward to @Dan_M comparison between the Lindemann and the new fw. I have a feeling the new fw will be the better sound or at least it should be. If not then the Lindemann is a bit of a giant killer. In Sweden the ND555 with PS is approx 32700€. Can’t imagine the streamer part only responsible for 785 of those €. Or without ps 785€ of ca 22000€
I will do a review and compare the two. Busy next few days. Got my daughter with me so will try when I can to compare.
It’s sods law that I get the Limetree and then the update comes out! ![]()
It’s always the way!
Always nice to have a backup ![]()
Yeh, I kept my old Node and it came in very useful!
Let us know when you will buy something new again to provide for the workaround for a problem, Dan. Then we know that the solution is on our doorstep… ![]()
Good job I bought used. But then I normally do! Hopefully all good now.
I did try to tell you Dan
Yes, hopefully all good with the new update. But Dan and others are now aware that there are other options out there that are very good and don’t cost the Earth and that having a separate streamer and DAC might be a consideration in the future.
Still waiting for the Legacy iRadio update so vTuner can be a distant memory for some.
Please compare nd555 vs lindemann
I will not be surprised if…
I will do later on. Not at home at the moment. I hear it’s good!
