LINN 50th Anniversary LP12

It used to come just like this to fit in your own cabinet or radiogram. :scream:

What about the little red cap that came in the packaging? I still have mine.

Great if you have one but remember to put the sheath on the shaft at the same time before it touches anything.
Play safe. :+1:t2:

I bet there won’t ever be a Keel with rounded corners for the Naim Aro though!

Yes.

I’m not being nasty.

I have a beautiful LP12, with a Wenge plinth from Solid Sounds, a Keel/A, an ARO and a Dynavector Te Kaitora Rua, which I think would see off this nasty white thing with ease.

Mr Ive really should stay away from designing turntable, however much of a coup Linn may think they have scored.

Only my opinion, of course. And others will certainly disagree.

But the world would be a sorry place if we all thought exactly the same.

I don’t agree. The original ‘classic’ set-up of LP12/Grace/Supex was pretty basic - by today’s standards, at least.

Hi Graham
I’ve just consulted the Rams bible, “Less & More”.
Looks like the earliest Braun shavers from the 1950s predate him, but he was definitely involved in some of the later designs (see pics).
The range of household items he was involved in designing is astonishing.
Truly a Gesamtkunstwerk, to quote his countryman, Richard Wagner.

Most things are only a matter of opinion
the nasty white thing is prob anything but
we should embrace what Linn are doing and their investments in their/our future.

Lets not get stuck in a time warp

That SME isn’t grabbing me at all. I think it’s really ugly. I’d much rather have this Clearaudio for about the same price.

Innovation Master with TT1 linear arm.

Hmm. I have a nice polished solstice plinth that is calling your kettle black!

Mein Gott! Das ist ungeheuerlich, sicherlich das Werk des Teufels! :imp:

I wish that Linn would not treat their customers as mugs.

Naim’s recent “special” offering, the NAIT 50, could not be more different than Linn’s!

Let’s be civil with one another please. Thanks.

Couple questions
Linn does not mention what this 60k even includes? Anyone know what is in the package? Tone Arm? Cart? Phonostage? PSU? what do you get that makes it 2x the price of the Klimax LP-12
? It does not look 2x more expensive either in appearance or cost to make
I like the more rounded modern look but it just seems unjustifyable

Of course there was, when the LP12 started off as a copy of the Ariston RD 11 deck, which Linn were manufacturing on their behalf- which resulted in very well publicised Court action between the two companies in the early 1970s.

Who made the original design of LP12 which to a great extent is the same today?

Really

(all the elements of the Ariston RD11 and Linn LP12 are there, in the AR turntable)

That’s an ugly table. I’m talking about LP12 and it’s classic design.
