There can be only one amp - the Kingslayer Nait 50
You all beat me to - definitely the NAIT50 for the LP12 50 - nothing else would do!
Iām not so sure reminding Apple customers about that terrible keyboard design which caused Apple to fire Ive is the right kind of attention. He nearly killed the MacBook Pro as a product. It took the Apple Silicon for customers to forget that key design.
This will clearly give Linn some fantastic advertising. Iām getting friends (who never comment on hifi and will undoubtably not own a deck) on my Facebook sharing this articles about this āamazing newā deck. Iāve never see any hifi stuff shared on my feed, never mind Linn/Naim.
Think I canāt resist some anal reply about how it should really have an Aro on it and see what happens. No doubt tumbleweed.
Or youāre nobody without an aim
Have your Falcon speakers arrived yet ?
Was that the full size, external, keyboard with laptop keys ?
Itās all a matter of preference I guess. I have the full size Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad and I like using it. The Touch ID feature is awesome.
Hi @Richard.Dane, for the purposes of understanding, did I post a link that is not allowed? It was an open access (free for the entire world) link to a news article on the collaboration between Linn/JI.
I donāt wish to make the same mistake again

I heard the latest and most expensive incarnation of the LP12 at the Bristol show. I have to say I was quite impressed.
However, I was recently reminded thereās more than one way to skin a cat! Heard this again recently going through top of the range Rega phono, Naim S1 pre and NAP 500DR.
All I can say is WOW!
Lovely! I would love to hear a Naiad out in the wild one day. And as pretty as the fully specced LP12 Klimax (or LP12 50) is, this is where my money would go if I had the bank balance to match that is. Oh, and a P10 sat to one side and equipped with Mono cartridge as well - just to play my Beatles mono LPs!
But no aluminium hinge made by Jony?
So where do you plan on finding your ARO for this venture?
Clearaudio (or whoever made the Solstice) had a good attempt to produce an ARO on steroids, which was so heavy that it wouldnāt fit on a standard LP12.
Where do you hope to turn to now?
Yes shame they couldnāt get some Tiger Paw Javelins!
Why the disdain (at least how I read your comment) for purely cosmetic changes?
Obviously something that hinders the sound but ālooks goodā is not desired. Maybe thatās what your comment means?
I continue to not understand why people get agitated about the cost of something they donāt want to buy anyway . . . and that plenty of people WILL buy at said cost.
I donāt think that the company needs to ājustifyā the price to anyone. Itās not a life-saving drug (in which case the UK Government dictates the price anyway).
Simply because of the principle of this. I think it is plain wrong. I donāt care if it is HiFi, real estate, cars, widgets or what, when some billionaire comes and raises the bar which shuts out other people, when all they care about is increasing their wealth with yet another collaboration. Assuming of course that Linn will hike the prices of other things as has been the case over the last years.
A simple example with real estate is easy to understand, where people come along and pay silly prices for things because they can and so the prices go up and upā¦ This leaves many people unable to get on the ladder to own something.
At some stage there will have to be a turn around in this.
Another thing which no one has mentioned. Iām sure he is not doing this out of the kindness of his own heart. Sounds like itās the only way to survive these days
A billionaire isnāt raising the bar.
Linn have set the price, not the buyer.
They will all undoubtably sell, as there will be buyers who; A, have the resources for this, and B; who want to own this. This, in turn will provide Linn funds for further development of the products, which us mere mortals can buy.
I appreciate that you donāt like it, donāt want to buy it, etc. thatās your choice which is respected. However, there will be many people that like it and appreciate it, without being able to buy it.
As for me, having owned Linn sources since 1986, it is a nice looking deck but not for me. But Iām not buying it and wish those that are all the best for supporting a small British engineering company. This will allow them to continue to make great Hi-Fi, now and in the future so that we all can continue to enjoy our hobby and music.
In the meantime, continue enjoying the Jazz.
