Lingo 4 - nice
I’ve never tried Trampolin, always wonder about it (I went a few years ago for the SRM Tech acrylic SilentBase, which really helped tidy up the bass compared to the old plyboard base).

For everyone’s clarity on this and without additional comments out of respect to Richard Dane in terms of what I can say here…
FYI.
Pre Oct 2016 the price of a Kore was £750.00
Oct 2016 saw the price rise £50.00 to £800.00
Sept 2021 the price was still £800.00
January 1st 2022 the price has now risen to £912.00.

the initial concept of the lingo was to move the electric components out of the plinth, now we have the lingo 4 which I appreciate has the dc motor but once again puts an awful lot of electronics back inside, who knows what’s next.
For clarity again:
The Lingo 4 has an AC motor not DC but it operates at a much lower voltage than the original AC motor.

Peter
Hello, just a quick update regarding the new lingo 4, it turns out although not used this was actually purchased in 2018 by seller, hence not new, anyway after contacting eBay we agreed a reduction and refund to bring the purchase price down to £900, obviously no warranty but I would have paid similar for a second hand used one, cant wait to be in a position to be able to just sit a relax with tunes.
Are you fitting it yourself?
Absolutely not, complete new build from new parts I have collected over the last 6 months, that is apart from the Linnv3 tonearm, arranged for dealer to assemble as soon as the trampolin comes in, I am getting withdrawal as I sold my original Lp12 to help fund last bits.
Sounds like your doing all the work in one go, It would be good to hear what each change brings?
I did the change myself in replacing the Chord Shawline to Signature, this turned my LP12 around as before I felt I was missing some of the detail my digital side had but this fixed this with just a cable!
I then did the Akurate 1 to Klimax Radikal 2 at the end of last year but also included the upgrade from Ekos to Ekos SE, I missed not hearing what each component did but I live too far away to warrant repeated visits.
moved from Kore to Keel last year - that was also a big one
that was the demo where @Cymbiosis put a number of options which is great Peter just changed the decks around - Stiletto was always going to try and be my end point and Kilmax
Yes hopefully it should sound better than the old Lp12, the only trick I missed was I should have kept the old deck to play side by side to compare, still a lot of options for future upgrades but it’s a far better starting point than the previous one, I have a kind of plan for the future next would be a nice ekos, but first getting this up and running is a priority and use it as a baseline, from them on I can check out each upgrade or change.
Good stuff Ant. We are on similar paths. I am making my final LP12 move in March too with Akurate Radikal 1 → Klimax Radikal 2. Looking forward to it. I think I will then be Klimax spec (apart from Ekstatik). That’ll do me I reckon.
Hi, and your starting point for your upgrade path is probably near the end point I envisage, I intend to live with this build once it’s been completed and then I will be able to compare any further upgrades, I really want to compare the lv3 against the ekos, but I best not get carried away and get it built first, hope your planned changes are all up to expectations, regards Neil.
Radikal 1 to Radikal 2 upgrade for me sometime later this year. That will probably then be my end game (famous last words).
Off to the dealer today as my upgraded LP12 is ready to demo with a few carts.
Could be an expensive day…
Hello
After lots of advice and listening I’ve plumbed for a low out put dynavector dv20-x2l I had all the essential ingredients I was looking for, it was close between that and a linn mc but I wasn’t keen on the exposed stylus, I’m very clumsy, hope it all goes well, please post what your final decision is,regards.Neil.
Winner, looks good as well.
Looks lovely
Congrats
Enjoy a weekend of fun playing records
A black plinth LP12 with a black tone arm certainly looks great, in my eyes, with a classic, iconic design and a modern look.
Richard
Hi and I totally agree a matching plinth and tonearm make it, the only problem I have is the oak plinth looks superb but I’m having trouble mounting the cartridge on the wooden tonearm.
Hello more serious now, decided to not mess around with this new build and after picking up a new lingo 4 thought I should put the rest of this project on parr, I managed to find a very nice ekos 2 and that well known auction site provided a kore, already had the all new linn oak plinth, top plate, platter and karousel so as soon as the trampolin comes into the dealership it will finally be put together, this started as a modest upgrade from the Lp12 turntable I sold and has ended up a lot more than first planned, both financially and time, last but not least I have the dynavector dv20-2 low output any ideas if this is ok for this turntable build, I did look at the linn cartridge but the exposed stylus made me nervous, I broke a troika many years ago, any further input would be gratefully received, regards Neil.
