Perhaps it’s defeating the object of leather seats, but I have woollen throws on my listening ‘Stressless’ chairs. Ideal for a wrap in winter, cosy when a fire is lit, but a bit of a pain in summer, although they do have some acoustic features.

I think I have not understood also your original question.
I am in Versailles France and move 3 km from my actual place. We were renting since 25 years, the month cost was low . But now the owner wants to sell to give it for his son.
So we bought an apartment elsewhere , hopefully for something better.
But not in the central castle area where we are actually, because the prices are crazy and the buildings are very old , from 1700, however with a lot of charm. But heating monthly taxes also crazy.
