Good evening am thinking of running a dedicated mains spur want to know what cu and cable anyone has used

G’day tgw56,
My reply may be contentious. NAIM uses toroidal transformers in its equipment, which are used in high-level test and measurement equipment (see Hewlett Packard or Agilent Technologies). These transformers are designed to circumvent electrical noise on the incoming mains. I think there is little to be had with running a separate mains spur unless an isolation transformer is used at the start of the spur.
Others will swear by them. My opinion is my opinion. By the way, you have a very nice system.

As an amendment to my above reply, if you have a large enough room with statement equipment and house, there is no stopping you at the planning stages to have each room on its own circuit breaker.

Normally you would expect a lot of responses here, but this subject has been covered many times, so suggest you read up what you can, and by all means come back here and ask any more specific questions, and I’m sure you will get further help
Here’s one example:
@anon77199223 - I understand you used 2 different main cables for your radials as follows:
-
Lapp Olflex Classic 110 CY 10mm sq to Furutech (G) single socket.
-
Belden 83803 (12 AWG) cable to an MS HD Power (G) duplex socket.
Can I ask which one worked out best and why?
Yes, I use both of those two radials.
My two NAP 135s are plugged via Powerlines into the duplex socket, and my Farad/EE8, ND5XS2, NDS, and 52 are plugged into the Furutech/Lapp using a Graham’s Hydra.
That’s the best configuration I’ve found and it sounds great.
From what I can remember now, the Lapp radial gave the best results in early comparisons.
Thanks Jim, good to know
