I felt it cumbersome to have the PSU on the bottom shelf and having to bend down all the time to change speed and switch the PSU on and off so elected to have the following arrangement:
The PSU sits on a piece of glass not touching the Fraim and on self contained spikes, isolation feet. The performance is equal (if not better than depending on quality of recording) than the NSS333 by comparison. The record storage box was a self assemble costing around £20 and means that I can easily reach the PSU without having to fully bend down. It works for me. Thought I’d spice up the above photo with some seasonal colour. Merry Christmas all..
Good question, my Xerxes sits on Fraim glass and fits spot on. IF I switched to a Vertere it wouldn’t fit the glass, hypothetical of course from my point of view, just interested!
I am keeping the P10 PS on the second shelf on the rack. Not ideal, but I need to keep things easy to operate, given my disabilities. Things are often a compromise regarding SQ for me and that is fine.
I played Kind of Blue record one today. Acoustic Sounds reissue. I had to raise the volume and then learned that the original was recorded at a low volume. The decay of the piano notes was captured perfectly on my P 10. The recording is very rhythmic and texturally complex.
Given my vision and hand coordination, am I better to lock my P10 tonearm when not in use and when placing the dust cover on? Will it damage anything if I lock the tonearm?
Rega sounds superb on the Fraim with glass (not tried it without glass). The detail extracted from the record surface is exceptional, paired with the NVCTT the result is highly musical.
@registlse My ears are adjusting. All my records sound fresh with new insight. I like the visual look too. The details are very noticeable. I bet the Linn would have been warmer, but its cost and sprung suspension and frequent upgrades precluded it. I like the Rega once and done idea. Lastly, I had a P9 for many year, so I felt the P10 was the next logical move. The only thing I don’t care for is the P10 dust cover.
I once had a little bird entered in my living room. I made a huge amount of efforts to get it out. He was frightened, but I too, because of the turntable. He finished to poop on the acrylic P10 dust cover. Better than on the cartridge lol.
You are the best to respond here, as you are a zoologist.
I thought it was commonly named bird but in fact had a more specific appellation.
For example whales are not fishes.
Discovered today that I am a gallus gallus domesticus.
