Sad news.
When someone has mentioned her to me in the past I have tended to think she was an all-round sad figure and young talent wasted due to bad life choices, relationships and the destructive influence of the drugs she was addicted to.
Sad news. RIP Marianne.
That’s a shock and very sad to hear. What a career she had. Multi talented & always a great story to tell. R.I.P

Farewell Marianne Faithfull, I’ll never forget the first time I heard your album Broken English on a weekend with friends in London. I immediately went out to the Our Price on the King’s road and bought the cassette (along with Sly &Robbie’s Dub Experience, which had just been released, this being late in in’85) and played it repeatedly on the long drive back up to St. Andrew’s. Thanks for the music. Rest in peace…

That’s such a shame, Broken English was one of ‘those’ albums from that period that just stuck with me. RIP.

I can vividly remember being played Broken English at a mate’s house. Up to then I’d only considered Marianne as a bit folksy ex of Mick Jagger. BE blew me away - remains in my top 5 albums ever and numerous other albums are now part of my collection. Let’s hope some decent TV coverage of her music, not just the sad times

Very saddened by this loss, such a talented actress and singer. Will always remember her as the Girl on a Motorcycle.

Oh no, she had a fantastic career both as a singer and as a film star. She recorded two of my favourite albums in Broken English and the live Blazing Away.
