Anybody found a solution yet? It is very annoying to enter the metadata maually.
Buy a Innuos
Yes - Track title turning to Album title is indeed a very annoying bug. I have the same problem during editing metadata.
I did tell Naim support about this bug when I emailed but got no specific response. It is something new and it would probably help if other Core users emailed Naim Support and pointed this out - and any other issues.
In relation to the acquisition of metadata during ripping, it seems that they have commissioned Rovi and simply leave it up to them - it doesnât seem that thereâs much in the way of interaction, or pressure on Rovi to improve the service. The person who responded had previously argued that it might take some time to get metadata available for new releases. I then gave them the example of Joni Mitchellâs Archives Vol 3. which I tried to rip recently and for which no metadata was found. That had been released eleven months ago and although Naim support agreed it was a long delay, there was no indication that such examples would be taken up with Rovi.
I had the same issue whilst ripping 4 CDs before going to bed on Saturday night. I switched off and unplugged the Core and then reconnected and powered up on Sunday morning with the next 5 CDs ripping as expected including full metadata and artwork.
Is this the solution? Or did someone got a reaction from Naim.
I ripped 5 cdâs and no information found. Should I wait with further ripping?
Metadata provision on the Core is awful, unreliable and regularly broken.
naim wonât do anything about this as it requires investment in better software.
Why should you have to turn off a device costing ÂŁ2200 regularly to get basic functionality?
I love the Uniti Core ⌠In my household the Core is intensively being used by 5 family members due to the fact that it contains >70% music thatâs no longer available on streaming services. (I worked in record stores from late 80s to late 90s and would guess that there currently are 6000+ cdâs stored on the Core)
I am of the opinion that keeping the Core available in the market as a current product creates obligations ⌠I would love to see better sources for metadata being added because lately I have been experiencing experience 5 out of 10 cdâs ending up without metadata
@Naim Please act âŚ
I would not be surprised at all, if behind the scenes, That Naim have been writing a complete new vastly improved firmware from scratch for the Core. If this is not possible due to its existing electronic architecture design, then on releasing a new product.
Must say I would be surprised.
