Mick Fleetwood & Friends: Before the Beginning

AKA Mick Fleetwood & Friends celebrate the music of Peter Green.

I’ve just been to see this film, and found it very good indeed.

The alternative title says it all really, but in essence it is a film of a concert, organised by Mick Fleetwood and featuring a dozen or two musicians, some who worked with Peter Green in his days with Fleetwood Mac, some who are former members of FM, and some who just have a link musically. In no particular order these were some of the names: John Mayall. Bill Wyman, Pete Townshend, Dave Gilmour, Andy Fairweather-Lowe, Zak Starkey, Jonny Lang, Billy Gibbons, Christine McVie, Steven Tyler.

As someone who loved early Fleetwood Mac but went off them after Peter Green left, it was great for me. Blues and blues-rock, I’ve never been to a gig with so many different guitars singing to me!

Thet were lucky in that the concert was early 202o, pre-COVID lockdowns otherwise it may never have happened. And it is made all the more poignant by Peter Green dying in 2020.

What would you recommend from this era @Innocent_Bystander?

My favourite song of all is Man of the World
