Lovely bike my friend!
Good for you, keep rocking and ride safe. Regretably I had to give let my R1 go after owning fron new. But at 76 years of age I don’t need 180bhp and 170 mph etc, but I still have my trusty Cub C90!
I sat on one the other day (flat-footed to the ground) at my local Triumph dealership and was quite surprised at how agile and well balanced it felt. I never drummed up enough courage to ask for a test run though…
I had a trusty C90 with a back box, great for local commuting around the town. I’ve never quite understood why they have died out here in the UK, they were almost free motoring ![]()
Here’s my Triumph Trident 660. Had her for about a year, ridden daily in all weather, done about 9000miles so far. Oh, and i clean her every day after a ride out using Muc-Off Motorcycle Protectant.
Taking it for a test ride would be fatal…no other bike would be the same afterwards and you’d simply have to have one (That’s what happened to me anyway!)
To be honest, although at a stretch, I could probably have one, it’s a way out of my price range in all fairness. Therefore, like you say, it’s probably best I don’t have a go on one.
However, the new Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster is another possible contender for me, looks gorgeous, so comfortable to sit on and very keenly priced.
The thought of sitting with that high torque 1200cc parallel twin underneath is very appealing to me, especially with the low running costs & 10,000 mile service intervals taken into account. Not sure how it will endure all year round commuting & pleasure riding, in terms of wear and tear though. The stealth editions are absolutely stunning to look at ![]()
I have a test run booked in with my local dealership this coming Saturday for a Triumph Tiger 900GT Pro. If all goes well i’ll be chopping in my Trident 660. I’ll also add in the protection package along with Triumph’s aluminium Expedition panniers. £17100.00 all in.
Good luck with that, hope you like it
Hi @Stephen_Tate have fun on your test ride. I have a Tiger 900 Rally and I’m very happy with it. I’m tall (190 cm) and therefore have difficulty with smaller motorbikes. I previously had a Tiger 800 (from 2014) and also a BMW 1200 GS (from 2004). The GS is much heavier and the Tiger 900 is correspondingly easier to ride with the same power. The Tiger 900’s chassis has been significantly improved, as has the engine’s responsiveness and the general equipment compared to the Tiger 800. I also took the Scrambler 1200 for a test ride. The engine in particular is very impressive. But I’ll stick with the Tiger.
I could write much more. But this is a hi-fi forum
Thanks. I’m hoping any rain holds off during the run as i’ll be unfamiliar with the bike. I’ve not ridden an adventure bike before. This will be all new for me. My plan is to hopefully start up some touring around the UK sometime next year if all goes to plan.
That is a lovely bike. Very nice!
I would be happy to get 150 kilometres out of my Ducati 1098S!
Ah well, my first proper motorbike was a Triumph Tiger 100 500cc, the bath tub version, cost less than a hundred pounds, and was the unit construction, so maybe 1960’s, I must have had it in the late 1960’s, but had several others for a number of years, till I found a car for fifty pounds, a 1948 Austin 16, and well, bikes became less used, though I was a regular rider through the 70’s, till I married!
Well it is in a motorcycle thread, and not political…
Sorry, no sensible pictures…
The first bike I truly loved was a Meriden Co-Op T140E bought new in 1979. I wouldn’t be surprised if I bought another one…
As long the bike has “green Naim lights” it fits the forum
Well, i ended up demoing the Triumph Rally Pro, but went for the GT Pro in purchase. Fits my slim build of 5ft 10’ better. I have loads of extras being fitted to her, including all the luggage. I pick her up on the 16th next month. Cant wait, i’m very excited to say the least.
Happy riding!![]()
Nice!
Enjoy.
I’m almost 4000 miles into my new bike now. Still makes me smile when I ride it!
Very nice bike indeed. Enjoy and have a good ride.
Thank you Wilfried. You too mate👍
