Motorcycles... New Purchase R1250RT

RT’s are great bikes… except for the seat… ouch! unless you have a BIG Bum LOL

I pick up my new bike next Saturday. The dealer has pulled it a week earlier than expected. It goes in the workshop this coming Wednesday to be fitted out for release. Sorry, i just had to take some pics today whilst settling the finances. Happy riding you’ll :victory_hand:

Love the cable dressing

they must not touch the floor or sound quality goes…
so I am told, especially anything called a burndy…

I like to see neat cable runs, and am particularly averse to sloppy cable coiling, and one of the tests I used at work was to note how a candidate coiled a length of cable.

Nice colour, looks cool in white, but where’s the windscreen? :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Debs. The windscreen will be fitted when the bike goes into the workshop to have all the other bits fitted. Here are some new bikes without their screens on.

I’m guessing there’s a valid reason why they leave them off in the showroom… I never thought to ask them why the screens are missing…

Just spent a day at the Triumph Adventure Experience in Wales on Friday with a mate. We rode Tiger 900s for that, was a brilliant day. Highly recommended if you’ve not done it!

That sounds like an amazing day out. I’m thinking of doing their factory tour in Hinkley. :slightly_smiling_face:

R1300 RT is going to be awesome… Big bump in HP and torque… I had a couple of Boxer’s R1100RT x2 R1200R … I really liked the K bikes more… Had K1200RS, K1200S, K1200GT… Two Triumphs and a Honda. Never had a bad crash… so I feel blessed to have ridden over 100,000k miles with no issues. Except speeding tickets… LOL

I hope BMW launches the 1300 RT with less problems and recalls as with the new GS, normally no habit at BMW. And for the first time the customer has to pay for the changing of the cardan at the 80.000 km service.

Historically BMW has usually put any new motor in the GS first. I think they feel that that’s a good place to find out what problems there might be before putting in the others

Probably because they are delivered separately and protected to stop them getting scratched and that’s also wise for the showroom floor.

Which DT are you buying from? Washington? Use them before? Happy with them?

I stil hanker after my old T140E and then think maybe a new Bonnie would be more sensible. I’ll have take one out for a ride and see whether I could bear to part with my Harley. Not having two bikes again…

Screen and some extras fitted. Side panniers will be on for the handover this coming Saturday morning. Already got her 600 mile service booked in. She looks great!:+1:

Enjoy! We’ve certainly got the weather to appreciate a screen!

Thanks. The screen works surprisingly well and conveniently (on the go) is adjustable by hand. It can be lifted or lowered into three positions for different sized riders.

Wonderful bike, but then i would say that wouldn’t i? Chuffed to bits

I do like the tea from the van.

Until idiots start feeding the seagulls, there’s one already weighing up my new bike.

Just hope they hit the white bits.
