MQA now available on IOS devices

Does this mean Tidal Masters will be available through the Naim app?

No, this is Tidal’s own app on iOS and Android.

There is another thread running on this.

Hi Richard, would it be worth merging the two threads?

Yes, I’ll merge the threads.

Airplay only supports up to 48khz. So there’s no way to stream unfolded MQA using AirPlay. With Chromecast it should be technically possible.

This article helps describe the problems with using an iPhone only to do MQA

So, if I connect my iPhone to my muso via the standard lightning to usb cable, will that play the Tidal Masters from the iOS app on the muso? Just trying to understand what the benefits of Tidal Masters on iOS actually means.

It works with airplay not chromecast from my mobile

I use mconnectHD app, which is linked to my Tidal account. I can play back mqa ‘mastered’ files through my Naim streamer which shows a 48 kHz being played.
