Hi all, some time ago my Mu-so 1st gen. stopped responding to remote control. Replacement of battery, getting a new remote (from Mu-so 2nd gen.) didn’t help.
A camera in a mobile phone can see infrared, so I made sure that both remote controls blink, so they seem to be operational.
I have performed the “deep reset” of the unit (pressing the reset button for 15 seconds, then for some time the whole unit blinks like a Christmas tree and eventually restores its operation. This didn’t help either; my Mu-so doesn’t react at all to any of my two remotes.
Is it possible that the IR receiver in my unit is faulty or is there anything else I can do to try to restore my Mu-so to start seeing the remote again?
If it’s faulty, is it possible to buy the IR sensor module and replace it? I’m an electronic, so there wouldn’t be a problem if I needed to solder.
Naim don’t sell individual parts, and any discussion around DIY falls foul of forum AUP.
Your best best is to talk to your Naim dealer, who should be able to arrange a repair for you, or else contact Naim support.
Many thanks for the reply. I uderstand there’s nothing more I can do in terms of refreshing / rebooting / resetting the unit and now it’s time for an authorized service to take care about it?
