Mu-so gen 2 deep sleep problem

I started my journey with NAIM with a Mu-So 2nd gen.
My problem is the following:

  • Setup successfully - white LED constant there - all services working
  • Switch to standby either via remote control or app
  • Device in standby is pingable and I can access the device page in web browser
  • Switch on device either via app or remote control
  • Device disconnects from IP immediately and is booting ab as not configured with purple LED
  • For part of a second white LED is visible but immediately the device is switching off and is no longer reachable via IP. If I switch on the device with the app than it stays with the white LED and I can use it.

Router Software: OpenWRT 24.10.5. Upgrade to 25.12 without any difference. I have tried a different router on my girlfriends home where a NAIM Unity is working fine, the same issue.

Conclusion after trying several times via cable and wifi: Same behavior on all connection mode

I am near to the end to give back the device. Any idea what I can do / change on my network, because I like allot the sound of the Mu-so.

Cheers,

Clemens

I have experienced pretty much the same same issue as you describe, the only difference being when it appears to be “off” it was still communicating with the internet (confirmed by monitoring network traffic). Naim support have gone suspiciously silent on this after Peter Tyson verified tha the unit was faulty once they received it back (I’ve not had any response from either since the issue was confirmed on 13 February which is totally unacceptable).

(BTW, you can ressurect the Mu-so temporarilly until you put it into standby if you insert a SIM card removal tool immediately after it boots and the LED turns purple.)

I have got a repaired device back but after 5 hours the same issue is back. It is probably a software issue because in sleep the Naim communicates. Now I am waiting for response from the seller / Naim (1,5 week) because my device is now 3 month old with one repair but has not worked as expected from the beginning.

Mine was a replacement for a Mu-so with a similar issue. It pretty much failed out of the box (worked until placed into standby).

I have a Bentley Mu-so 2 ( also use OpenWRT 24.12 on primary router)

Is your Mu-so Ethernet cable attached to your LAN , or WiFi ?

Putting my Mu-so into standby with either App or Remote Control is successful and awakening by either App, RC or hand swipe over volume dial wakes successfully with minimal lag and no purple LED, it’s immediately white.

Suggest if you haven’t already, try a factory reset. Then perform a setup again using Ethernet first.

Thanks for the info. This was the exact behavior when the repaired unit came back for the first 6 hours. After that starting again with the issue

I have used an ethernet cable and tried now a Fritzbox on my girlfriends home. All with the same result.
