Just got the email. Badged Focal rather than Naim?
Just had a Focal email, looks like the Muso 2 has beefed up.
At £3000 it ought to be a bit beefy?
Not as handsome as the Muso
Of no interest to me but here is some blurb to look at.
The Mu-so Hekla adds to the Mu-so range, following Focal’s achievements with its Diva Utopia line.
Named after one of Iceland’s active volcanoes, the system delivers powerful Dolby Atmos audio in a clutter-free and immersive form factor.
Unlike conventional soundbars, it houses a complete 7.1.2-channel system in its single enclosure.
A total of 15 individually amplified speaker drivers deliver 660 watts of power across a 30–20kHz frequency range.
The system also features ADAPT room-calibration technology for tailored acoustic performance.
HDMI eARC and optical inputs provide options for home cinema connectivity, while the Focal and Naim app can be used to control the system along with smart watches and voice assistants.
Mu-so Hekla makes its global debut on Nov 6 at the Focal Powered by Naim store in Seoul, becoming available in South Korea and China before its worldwide rollout in Q1 of 2026.
Yes, it’s a Focal product (with electronic design input from Naim).
Atmos in a single box??
You can read more about it here:
There’s also a first review on the What Hifi? Website.
I don’t know if it was your intent, but many audiophiles use the term “lifestyle” as a pejorative. As if so called products were not any good.
I believe the traditional upper end hifi gear will become largely extinct, once the boomers and generation X are no longer around to buy them.
The days of class A and class A/B amplification are coming to an end. This business of having a monstrous power transformer with a massive power supply and large case seems ludicrous in 2025. I was against class D 20 years ago, because it was awful sounding. Things have changed. Class D has come a long way. It is more powerful, smaller and consumes less than class A or A/B. It also sounds great these days. It also does not require expensive power supplies and beefy casework.
Naim (as many other hifi brands) should embrace new technologies if they want to survive. I see this as a positive.
It doesn’t appear to be Roon ready or have I missed this?

Seeing it in that picture it’s paired with one of those ludicrous long narrow imitation fires confirms the type of lifestyle it is aimed at…grey! And I bet there’s a battleship grey car outside to match!
Seems to be the way it’s going.

Actually a friend of mine causes them undercoat grey cars. That perhaps is more fitting!
Blimey, it’s like the old guys on the Muppets who sat in a box and grumbled about everything. The Hekla looks great for those who want high quality sound with their TV and don’t want to have speakers all over the house. The fact that it can also play music is a bonus, and could provide everything that many people want. It’s not designed for grumpy old sods who see anything that’s different to what they have to be entirely negative. Not everyone wants to live in a room surrounded by equipment.
Looks like a great product and has the very important ability to connect a subwoofer. Well done Naim. It’s exactly the type of product I would buy. Saying that, it wouldn’t fit into my set up. My tv is on a tall stand, with a Sennheiser Amber Max soundbar fitted just below, whereas this Heckla is obviously designed for a table.
Proper multi-drivers for surround sound, unlike the Muso. This will sound good. Funny I only mentioned this recently here. And there’s people convinced the Muso sounds great with dialogue ![]()
Nice one Naim, I hope you have success with this.
Erm, it’s not a Naim unit as such; it includes some Naim technology but is badged as a Focal product. Is this the beginning of the end for Naim?
Primare announced something similar a month ago.
Seems to do everything the Muso does, although it only has 10 speakers.
But it does include turntable phono pre amp, two coaxial digital inputs, headphone socket, FM/DAB radio and screen.![]()
Lol, so just to avoid confusion Focal have released a product that is called the Muso, but it isn’t a Naim product?
Got it.
