My Innuos Zen MK2 Died Today

Then my Innuos ZenMK2 finally died today. I’ve had several problems with it not booting up, but if I just didn’t restart it, it ran fine enough. But yesterday I suddenly couldn’t make a backup. I got the message system error and today it won’t start at all.

I then added an external hard disk to my system and the sound was just as good, maybe even better. It made me think about whether it’s even worth spending too much money on a streamer? I would like to have an Innuos Streamer again, but unfortunately I think the price of their new products will be expensive.

Which streamer do you prefer with an internal hard disk? I’ve looked at Innuos, Lumin and Aurender

Innuos will repair but it’s perhaps the moment to look at getting a second hand Mk. 3. Improved sound quality but also full access to the Sense app which is arguably one of the very best available.

From another forum: I heard from a dealer that Innuos will be changing their model lineup this summer. Rather than having so many models (three in the Pulse line, three in the Zen, two in the NG, plus the Statement NG) they will have base models for two or three lines that can be upgraded to the customer’s specifications.

I think I’ll just wait and see if anything happens soon.

Had heard about this recently in dealer discussions, just in case 3.11 doesn’t sort out tiring SQ on NDX2.

Will be interesting to see what the new Innuos range holds.

Well, the Innuos Pulse is a stunning streamer. The Sense software is very well put together, easy to navigate along with bringing multiple providers together to complete your library. Im also interested to see what Innous have up their sleeve.

My streaming system comprises a pair of Intel i5 mini PCs, one for control and one for audio, connected to an external 8TB USB drive. Software in JPLAY FEMTO with Audiophile Optimizer. Given the modest outlay of less than £1K, it sounds really good.

Let’s hope they won’t go crazy on price, as for the Statement Next-Gen !

So, the 2 new models are Stream1 and Stream3…

Starting at $2800 for the Stream1 without internal drive and, for the first time, user can install it (M2 NMVe SSD)

Stream 1 + S/PDIF card with later addition of the PSU looks promising.

Been reading up on these new Stream models. Interested in the Stream 3 to replace my ZENith Mk3. Hoping it’s somewhat still affordable. Just can’t find any pricing as of yet. If I had to guess, maybe starts in the $5500 (US) range ?

I think it will be a range under pulsar - modular as well (output stages). Or streamer /Server combination with different output module

I have been told these prices: Streamer 1 - EUR 2500. Streamer3 - EUR 5500

That seems reasonable. The Stream 3 would be on par with what the ZENith Mk3 with a 2TB drive was selling for in Canada. I’m nterested in the basic model with only. USB out. Already have the Innuos USB reclocker.

Innous is really on its way up … really happy with both zenith mk3 and Phoenix net.

A nice alternative could be Matrix Audio TT-1…

… but why? Clinical, cold sounding ugly thing. IMHO obvs. but based on having had a home demo of one via a family friend.

I have decided to go for either Stream1 or Stream3, but am very unsure about which one to choose. The big problem is that I may not have the opportunity to hear/compare these in a store. It is quite a price difference and you wonder if it is worth buying Stream3 instead of Stream1. I need 2TB, but what else would you recommend if you are going to upgrade Stream1? I would rather not have more boxes, so the LPS1 Linear Power Supply Upgrade is not an option.

I see from the Innuos forum a more detailed report of the various new models is scheduled for today, this may answer some questions you have. Unfortunately it’s too early for user feedback.

There’s the option to have the Stream 1 or 3, don’t remember, with a dac.
It may be tempting for some : 1 box, as streamer, dac, server, ripper, and storage.
