I have to respectfully disagree with that sentiment. When you look at the sheer scale of the upgrade it provides, the NPX300 offers exceptional value.
I currently run it on the 332 (and previously had one on the 333 before moving on), and the power supply completely transforms the 332 into a world-class preamp. The first thing that strikes you is the effortless, organic flow of the music. But it goes far beyond that: the noise floor drops, the low-end grips much tighter, decays seem to hang in the room forever, and any hint of top-end harshness entirely vanishes.
Having also auditioned the 555DR on the 332, I can confidently say the NPX300 outperforms it. For what it brings to the New Classic gear, it’s an incredible piece of equipment.

@gk_audio Interesting. Your input is more convincing in the affirmative than even some of the “professional” reviews i have read where the 300 is a “nice to have” but not necessarily a need to have.
so based on your experience, would the 300 be more noticeable with the 332, coupled with a sopra level speaker, versus the 200 series and kanta’s?

I haven’t personally tried the power supply on the 200 series, but knowing how revealing the Kantas are, I can’t imagine you wouldn’t notice a significant leap with the NPX300 in the chain.
There are usually some good deals floating around the used market. It’s a good way to audition it risk-free, since you can easily resell it for what you paid if you decide it’s not worth it. If you’re going the new route, I’d definitely lean on your dealer for a better price.
I will warn you though: the NPX300 requires patience. It takes a long time to properly settle from cold, even if used. Let it run in your system for two or three weeks before making the call. The real test is taking it out after that period. Chances are, you’ll be plugging it back in immediately

Maybe a quick update you can make to your system - sell the Gaia Neos and replace them with Toughnut cones from Canada. Not even in the same league (and cheaper). I have tried everything under my speakers, nothing comes close.

On the issue of Patience my experience with the 332/npx300/ncv-tt echoes that. When first connected vs my 72/hc the NC sounded dark, mid range recessed, and “blocky” for lack of a better word. No flow. Give it a few weeks to start loosening up. At 1 month things were really good. At about 4-6 months it swings like crazy.

Let me get this straight … the OP was absolutely happy with his system … ‘No need to tweak a thing going forward” … but is now contemplating changes after less than 30 posts.
Audiophile craziness. Take some time out, leave this forum and enjoy what you have.

Too true. I discover new tweaks every year. I think my tweaks have improved my hifi as much as my component changes.

@xfproductions AVOptions Custom Cryo’d XLRs. Single biggest noticeable tweak I made. so good that i really didn’t notice the other tweaks as much, that came after—like cyro-ing the speaker cables, the isoacoustic feet for the Kanta’s, or the the electrical filter i put at the breaker box.

As an owner of a NC set-up I’m interested to note something of a shift in attitude towards the range. For quite a while the prevailing view on this forum seemed to be less than enthusiastic; aesthetics aside, it was perhaps commonly regarded as expensive and ‘not as good as the Classic Series’. Is there a reassessment in the air? 
@Blacknote Just listened to your recommended Queen Mary–Francine Thirteen and Robert Plant Sixes and Sevens. Both remarkable. Queen Mary had elements where the sound stage was huge, almost surround sound like. Amazing.
And haven listened to a lot of Robert Plant, I missed this one. Fantastic tune and recording.
And I may have mentioned Dave Weckl and Steve Smith are good friends, so I too listen to a lot of fusion. Check out Weckl’s Afrique from his earlier days and let me know. It is a tasty tune that sounds great on my system.

I’m glad you enjoyed it. Francine Thirteen has an amazingly deep and wide soundstage and the bass is outstanding for me. I don’t think it’s that common for this kind of genre.
Both great drummers. I have many CDs where Weckl plays both jazz and jazz fusion (I love it too), he’s one of the best for me (if not the best). His live performance is truly excellent.
