I sold my DC1. I found a couple of £30 cables that sounded as good and unlike the DC1 were available in a suitable length, so my advice would be to avoid it.

Perfectly justified reasons to sell it in your particular case. But I don’t see why that would be reasons to avoid it alltogether. To avoid is strongly formulated, as in not good at all, which I don’t think applies here.

If anything is “strongly formulated” perhaps it’s your assertion that the cable somehow “performs organically” alongside the boxes it connects. I’m merely adding my rather different experience into the mix. The OP can of course decide for himself.
Yes indeed I asserted and assert that to my ears all Naim cables perform organically within an all-Naim system. The interconnects, burndys, Snaics, digital, speaker, power cables. For me that is also one of the attractions of the Naim ecosystem. Same in the Rega ecosystem.
Yet I realise this is a common but not a universally shared opinion. Different people can have different experiences, as you have. My apologies that my assertions rubbed you the wrong way.
Nothing like a good digital BNC cable comparison to spend the cold winter days if @skipper44 is so inclined. Or he may move to the NC series, like you did eventually, and forego the whole digital cable exercise. All good.

I’ll add that I have the nd5 xs2 + ndac + 282 and it’s a brilliant combo. I do honestly believe that the ndac is worth the extra over the streamer on its own. Hope whatever you decide you enjoy your music.
