NAC 52 and 82 boards

I have just bought a nice 2002 NAC 52 to replace my 1995 82. I swapped over my 523/2 S phono boards from the 82 to replace the two 526 boards that were in the 52 BNC input 1 and all working fine.

I was wondering if the 526 boards can go into the NAC 82 input 1 positions, they do fit but have two extra pins connections on them from the ones on the 82 phono positions. Is this ok to do?

Also out of curiosity, what are the 5 & 6 input and output positions on the NAC52 motherboard for? What boards were fitted here if any in the past? I believe they are just standard line in and out levels without any supplementary boards fitted, is this correct?

Thanks

My phono stage is a Stageline/Hicap, which is connected to input 1 on my 82. Therefore input 1 acts as a “line input” and has 526 boards fitted.

Thanks for that, I have plugged in the 526 boards and at least can sell the 82 with a usable input 1 and as there are so many options for phono boards then a buyer can swap them over as necessary.
