Hi,asking you who have changed from Nac 552 to Nac 332 ,what difference in sound do you prefer in the Nac 322 ?
@Igel I came from a SN3/NDX2. Delighted with my series 300 system. Change in tonal balance and detail and presentation.
@GraemeH is your go-to person here.
Hi @Igel - My move to a 332:300 and 333:300 was from NAC552 with NDS555 X 2 555PS in one go, so I can’t specifically isolate the 552 to 332 I’m afraid.
I am enjoying the NC300 series very much and think it has benefitted from some advances in technology over the 500 series but, as ever, you have to listen for yourself.

Hi @GraemeH -Thank you very much ! Yes I will try myself, but what I understand some find that the bass is tighter, the sound clearer and gives a bigger sound stage.
Those qualities are what I found.
Thank you !
Yes, that characterises the NC sound to me. I wonder if the new volume control technology plays a large part.

But also leaner, less organic, and less authority and weight. So different. The bass is tighter with the 332, but less textured.
I find the “texture” details to be easier to identify. The bow on a cello, for example. The cello sounds more “wooden” to me, albeit with a different tonal balance. We all hear differently.
But you compare Ndx2/ SN2 with 333/332/250, not 332/350 vs 552/500.
I compared the last both with Nd555 as source, the same day. 30 minutes both.
The question was specifically about the differences between the 552 and the 332. In your case it’s about the SN3 and the 332/250. You’d hope the latter was better at three times the price.
Thanks ! Do you prefer Ear 912 to both of them ?
I couldn’t disagree more, after many years of experience with 500 and over a year of 300.
G
Frankly, I prefer 552/500, but with an additional tubes phono.
But I prefer clearly 912/ 534 vs 252/300.
The first is difficult to find second hand in France, and even that, still expensive.
But maybe one day. With service of course.
Don’t forget that you had Proc tablette signature bookshelves with your 500 series system, if I am not wrong.
And our ears are different.
You are partly wrong. I actually had Kudos 505 for a period after the Proacs. More than revealing enough.
G
But still bookshelves, and not at the level for full 500 series and 2 555 ps on Nd555.
My opinion, but may be wrong.
Whatever. I think my extended experience remains valid.
