NAC 62 dicky function selector

Hi all. I have a NAC 62 with a dicky function selector. Problem ! it can cut out on a channel at any time and make a t very scratchy noise. It is fix by changing the selector a few times.
1 Is it able to be repaired ?
2 can I buy the part some where?

hope I have explained it right

If you are in the UK you can do a couple of things

Take it to your dealer for sending to Naim for repair/servicing

or

Send to Class A Audio in Sheffield for repair. They are a Naim-approved repair facility.

It is unlikely that you will be able to buy a component for DIY repair.

The NAC62 uses an ALPS remote selector - that keeps the selector switch close to the input sockets. These can wear and go noisy with time. You could try a squirt of switch cleaner on it and run it back and forth a bit in the hope that it cleans it up. However, if that doesn’t work the only solution is replacement and I don’t know whether Naim have any more of these (you’d need to check with Naim Support). Note that Naim do not sell parts to anyone but approved Naim servicers.

Looks like the OP is in New Zealand.
Getting spares for this out there could be a real issue…:face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Love the use of the word “dicky”. Not heard that in years. Brilliant.

How many inputs are you using.

Some of the input switches get dirtier than others.

Try a different input if you’re not using phono.

I’ m afraid i’m m having the same issue with my recently acquired Nac 62. It’ s fine with line inputs but with phono, especially with the Sondek connected, there’ s a very low output level, with right channel almost dead, cycling with inputs seem to sort It partially, It seems there is also a certain amount of distortion. I’ ll investigate with my dealer when collection the Snaps next week

all but it is the phone that is giving trouble
