Hello all, I have a NAC-N 272 and I am considering attaching both a CD player, (already done, to Analogue 3) and possibly a record player. also plan to connect a TV. Presumably that will work agreed?
I have been to the setup on the NAC-N 272 and enabled A3, the only analogue port available.
I first tried A2 but that produced no sound, and I noticed too that only A3 was selectable. that is when I tried A3 and it worked. but I realised that A2 and A1 are not selectable,
I checked the manual and then checked the Naim APP and see that in there that AN1 has a Port name ‘Naim Uniti’ and A2 has Port Name ‘Macbook’
Analogue3 appears on the NAC-N 272 display and Naim App whether the CD player is attached on not.
A3 Port name is analogue 3. So I wonder if will it follow that if I can overtype macbook for Analogue 2 I will be able to use it successfully or do I need to do something else please?
Were these input names changed by a previous owner? You can change them to whatever suits you, but that should have no effect on whether or not they work.
Do you need an analogue connection for your TV? You usually get better results using a digital output if your TV has one, either optical or Bluetooth.
Yes I would guess the labeling was done by previous owner. This is what I wondered. I tried A2 first, and nothing. Only An3 shows up and works, A1 and A2 don’t appear except in the app, and I don’t see any other means of changing A2 to make it work?
I was interested that in the app is the only place I can see A1-3 but I didn’t see any other possible configuration. I am not with the kit now or for the next few days. I figured that renaming might have an effect since working in IT, such things can make a difference between on and off.
The TV connection will be digital. I just need one more analogue within my current thinking\plan. So in theory I have 3 but why didn’t A2 work for sound. I have just remembered, I tested A2 without first shutting down the NAC-N 272. So maybe it will work once that is done correctly.
Have you used the remote/spanner to get to the inputs menu? You can enable quite a bit more than in app from here.
TV is best connected via optical digital.
I still have a 272 in use (just not able to get to it right now) so if you need further help let me know.
Thanks you for the responses and clarification that the labels are just that. All seems to be good now, and I can see all the analogue ports and both A2 and A3 work.
Thanks again.
