Good evening…I’ve noticed a “Crackling noise” coming from the LH channel when I increase / decrease in volume.
Has anyone experienced this ? Could this noise be the cause of the loss of the LH channel on my CDS3?.
As always, appreciate your thoughts and informed opinions.

Try turning off the preamp and rotating the volume control repeatedly from min to max. That can clean up the contacts and may stop the crackling sound. This may only bring temporary relief, but at least you will know whether or not the volume pot is the cause, or whether you need to look elsewhere.
